Team Updates:

February 2023:

College Families,

The Community Life Group would like to invite you to College Care Kit Creations Night.  We are asking parents to bring something their child loves (snacks, chapstick, pens, etc.)…enough for multiple students, as well as a shoebox for their own student.  Parents will then have the opportunity to pick out items that were brought, and fill a shoebox for their child while sharing in fellowship with other parents in this same season of life. Then take the shoebox with you and mail it to your student!  The date and time for the event is Monday, February 20th at 7PM.
If you are able to attend, please let us know by February 13th so that we can let the parents know roughly how many items to bring.  If you are not able to attend but would still like your student to get a card from St. John’s please share your students’ college address.  Both of these items can be sent to Emily Staveness at staveness825@gmail.com

This is a reminder to let me know if you are planning on attending College Care Kit Creation Night on 2/20 at 7 pm. RSVP is due by 2/13.  On the evening of 2/13 I will send out a signup form to those attending so that everyone knows how many items to bring and what everyone else is bringing so we don’t end up sending shoeboxes full of one thing.
Also, please remember if you cannot attend the night but would like your student to receive a card from St. John’s please reply with your student’s college address.

December 2022:

Merry Christmas! The last few weeks, it seems, there has been so much going on at St. John’s, and it is so fun to watch everyone get involved and in the holiday spirit. While the days are busy now, the months that follow Christmas can be long in Wisconsin and Community Life is planning for the New Year to keep you connected.

“After Lunch Bunch” This group will meet at 1:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the Gathering Area for coffee, cookies, and fellowship. Bring a deck of cards, your cribbage board, or your favorite board game to share. Be sure to add the following dates to your calendar! 1/4, 2/1, 3/1, 4/5, & 5/3

Everyone and Everything Night – The church will be open from 6pm-8pm the fourth Friday of the month. The Friendship Room will be open for those who want to run/shoot hoops. Grab your favorite game and bring it to share and crafters bring all of your unfinished projects to work on while you chat. Everyone is welcome! Mark your calendars for 1/27, 2/24, 3/24, 4/28, & 5/26.

Community Life would like to challenge the congregation to not only come to these events but to invite a friend or another family – we know you will have a great time! If you are interested in these events but could use a ride, please reach out to the Chair of Community Life, Emily Staveness, staveness825@gmail.com
