Worship Volunteer Opportunities
Acolyte – Assist in worship by lighting the candles and helping serve Communion. (Confirmation Students)
Audiovisual Assistant – Assist the audio engineer by running the slides and other tasks as needed.
Communion Gifts Presenter – Carry the bread and wine to the altar by way of the center aisle during the first part of Communion at the 8am service and at some festival services.
Communion Server – Assist the pastor in serving Holy Communion.
Greeter – Make all feel welcome upon entering the sanctuary by greeting and shaking hands with everyone entering the worship space.
Scripture Reader – Proclaim the Bible readings in worship. Copies of the readings are sent out early in the week to give time for preparation.
The Altar Guild – Prepare the chancel and its furnishings for worship, including setting the table for Communion and changing the paraments, among other tasks.
Usher – Hand out bulletins, usher the congregation to the altar for Communion, pass Offering baskets to present at the altar, count worship attendance, unlock/lock the church before and after worship.
Welcome Center Host – Welcome members and answer questions especially for first time visitors at the Welcome Center near the main entrance.
