SUMMER HYMN SINGS – July, August, & September

There are three remaining Hymn Sings this summer and will take place on the
first weekends of July, August & September. The congregation will be asked to call out their favorite hymns.
There is a hymn index on page 1205 in the back of the red hymnal to help you find hymn page numbers and titles.
Let us sing our praises boldly to God!


SHARE YOUR MUSICAL TALENT AT ST. JOHN’S THIS SUMMER!

You are invited to share your musical talent during the Offering time of worship on Sunday mornings this summer.
Please find the sign-up board near the choir room door to pick your date!
Ondra will help you coordinate a solo, duet, or mixed ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists if you would like the help.

EXPLORER DAY AT SUGAR CREEK – Tuesday, July 2

For children entering K-3rd grade – Explore Sugar Creek during this exciting one-day adventure! Activities may include fun games, nature time, swimming, crafts, pony rides, and Bible story time. We will leave Oregon at 7 am and return around 5 pm. The cost of the day is 35 dollars which includes lunch and a snack.  Adults are welcome as well – the cost for an adult is $10. FAMILY PICNIC – Sunday, July 21

Community Life Team is hosting this event, and will provide pulled pork & buns/table settings. Please bring your own beverages/water bottle (there will be a refilling option, lawn chairs, and life vests (especially kids sizes!) This is a free event, but we are asking for an item for the Oregon Area Food Pantry – donations can be brought to worship that morning if you don’t want to bring the item to the park.

A signup at St. John’s is ready for you to let us know you’ll bring a dish to pass! Options include appetizers, warms sides, salads, and/or desserts.

Swimming and boating is available at your own risk. It is the responsibility of parents to be mindful of their own children in the water – there are no lifeguards on duty.
